Michelle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, in both Oklahoma and California. Professional memberships include the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). She has worked in both private practice and group counseling centers for 25+ years.
Michelle is currently a Staff Therapist at TLCC and was an original founding partner of TLCC in 2007. She’s helped to develop programs such as a Marriage Mentoring Program and Parent University, coordinating both with local churches and schools to bring these programs into their communities. She’s also served in several local non-profits by developing and teaching classes on self-care, trauma, ptsd, burnout, compassion fatigue, communication, as well as classes for cancer patients dealing with depression, grief, self-image, and anxiety, parenting and marriage.
Michelle offers marriage, family and individual therapy, including work with adolescents. Her approach is best described as relational in focus (attachment based and EFCT), integrating theories that explore early learning in relationships, past traumas, and the impact these things have neurologically and on current functioning in the different areas of people's lives. She often works with a faith-based population and she is passionate about integrating the Christian faith in order to create an environment for deep healing spiritually, emotionally, relationally and behaviorally in people's lives and relationships.
